I talkecd with one of the crew Jamie's trailer -- and Ray, I think your on-the-scene comment -- "motor grenaded" was spot-on. It was a bit more than a motor fire, I'd say -- what with pistons lying in the belly pan as of right now.
Al's aborted run was an electrical farkle of some kind -- Reese, in his pit, just headed to Al's bike with the laptop to re-set the ECU and get the bike ready to run (better). The 2-hour window is still open and Charlie and Drew agree that the work is acceptable without jeopardising the status of the run(s). If they can get it done and the bike through the last light in the next half hour or so -- it's still a legal return run.
Poteet and main have the new 299 inch engine in the car and are close to ready to test start and run it. They'll then proceed to running -- maybe one hour or more, but they're moving ahead with plans to run more.
Gee, maybe the event will stay exciting right through the end of it, hey?
Assen and crew and bike are back in the pit to swap bodywork.
