A bunch of guys on the jalopy forum on a post about Speed Demon were asking about where to get info online about the racing so I posted the link. I hope that was OK to do. Ill take the blame if it wasnt.

Heck, that was no fun.  Leslie got on the bike and rode down to the 1 1/2 start line (for bikes).  Got there -- sputtering and coughing (bike, not Leslie) and shut it down and now the retrieval truck is going to fetch her.  No runs now after all.

Speed Demon running the 299 inch motor drops them to class 9.

They would be running against the 363.673 record they set last year.

You are correct.  They have been running the 347" "D" or class 10 (I think) motor until the connecting rods got scared of working in the dark and opened up a hole to let some light in.

Done for the day, per Mike Cook.  The Texans were the holdout, chasing gremlins, but they've given up for now.  Fire and Ambulance are headed on out, and we're packing it up.  Return at 7.30 tomorrow is the call - for 8 AM launch.  See you later -- will post other stuff as I find it during the evening.
