2011 Land Speed Shoot Out

Does anyone know exactly who will be attending the Shoot Out this coming Monday.  I know that Nish, Poteet and Main and Nearburg as well as Mike Akatiff will be there.  What about the sit on bikes and any late comers?

I think we've already got a topic going for the Shootout - but otherwise we'll use this one, okay?

Let's see if I remember who'll be at the event:

Nancy Wennerberg and Leslie Porterfield are the distaff racers, with Jamie Wagner and Richard Assen (so I now have been told) will be the other sit-on bike racers.   Rocky Robinson will pilot the Ack Attack bike.

Cars:  George Poteet in the Poiteet and Main Speed Demon, Charles Nearburg in the Spirit of Rett, and the Nish 998 car.  The Jack Rogers Camaros are at World of Speed now and MAY or may not race at the Shootout.  I don't know for sure, and Stever Strupp, one of Jack's drivers, didn't have the definitive word for us yesterday.  They're pitted right across from Nancy and me - I'll let you know as I learn more.

That's that - as far as I know now.  I'll keep you updated.

Nope to Mike and his jet bike.  I know he'd like to be there -- but I think he doesn't have the $$ put together for another visit just yet.  Having seen him and his passion a couple of years in a row, though -- don't count him out 'til he says he's all done.

As for who's going to be there, I got the art for the shirts today - and now I'm able to say my earlier report on who's gonna be there is correct.  I'll post the pictures as soon as Mike Cook tells me I can do so -- don't want to spoil his surprise.  Hint, though -- right in the center there's a well-known lady on her Turbo 250 that's decorated with a flamingo and palm trees motif -- and she's wearing a helmet that's got pink flames feathers on it. :roll:

Yeah, I know it's on FB -- but I thought I should ask permission before I put it here.  The shirts have been cars on one side, bikes on the other, for a year or two -- but this time I noticed that Rocky and the Ack bike are on the car side and the other is sit-on bikes only.  Whatever -- it's going to be a good event. 

We think we'll be having daily 3-5 minute video features available on landracing.com.  I'm not sure -- but it sounds like Brian Leckey's crew (they did the DVD and tv shows last year or two) will be producing the short features and making them available to TV networks and newscasts and especially to us on landracing.com.  We'll put them on photobucket or maybe YouTube or something so you can watch them at your leisure.

My, oh my, what's next?

Slim, stop pussyfootin around on coverage! Ain't anyone out there as legit as you!@ I see these oddball internet "TV" shows promoting this stuff and you should just go with it. Get in touch with me, I will help (background in TV and radio) :-D

Slim it would bee nice if you would Put the art work up. Thank you also to everyone out there we still have a open spot due to Amirs unfortunate luck during speed week. So if any one is intersted please contact my self or mike sr. We are trying to absorb some of the coast for the other racers thank you for all of your support

John I sent you a pm coast will be determined on how many days you would like to run we don't want to charge u a flat rate if you only plan on a couple days side car with passenger you would have to talk to SR on that I know we have a bike that will have two riders on it please call SR a talk to him as we are open to anything mike SR (951) 675-3070
