The speed that you wish to achieve is only limited by the depth of your wallet.

43 minutes remain in the one-hour return window.

That said, I wonder if the Speed Demon crew will start from here in the pit - or down at the 1 1/2, on the other side of the "ravine".  George is sitting in the car, the car is dry and clean.  They're changing air filter and checking over stuff -- but they may be able to run the back up run sooner than you might think.

We remain in lockdown so they can run at their convenience.

Drew, one of Brian Lacky's cameramen, filmed it from in front of the tower.  10 years ago he filmed the Turminator.  He's glad to be here.
Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.

The time window for the return window expires at about 35 minutes after the hour - about a half-hour from now.  The Speed Demon is now moving from the pit to the course.  I'll soon know if they'll start here or at the 1 1/2.

No report on wind on the course, but here at the pit we've got 6-10 from north northeast -- mostly headwind.

It appears the SD will start in the pits - the transporter has moved to the six mile and the car is on the ground out in front of us.  Great fun to watch him go past under power.  Car is in the center of the course, getting ready to fire up the engine.

Engine has started.  Gentle burbling sound of a turbo engine at idle.

Not so gentle as he accelerated.  Engine is shut off at the one mile.  CRAP!

No idea yet -- I'll let you know when I find out why the shutdown.  Will they return the car and try again?  22 minutes remain in the window.

Ron Main radios -- "we've got a problem, come pick us up with the trailer".  Sounds final.

Bikes will run in a little while.  Sorry, Speed Demon crew.
