Hi Deb!  Thanks so much for your sound checks last year.  This year we have redundancy but those were exciting times the first go-around.

Glen, when I was at their pit Terry said "We've found a few issues.  We'll let you know in a while".  They did fire up the motor for about five seconds a while back - but nothing since then, and that was at least 45 minutes ago.

A huge thank you to the Rice Brothers of Chronologic World Record Event Timing for the complete information on yesterday's runs.  We hope to do this again this evening.  James is extremely helpful to our Landracing endeavors.

And a big shout out to James' brother Alan hard at work back in California.  He rang up the tower and suggested it.  Well done.

Jamie Williams has madde his return run and the unofficial record speed, pending FIM certification, is 216.912 on a 216.588 record.  Kilo record speed is 217.004 (pending).

No word from Speed Demon -- have been getting Jamie's runs down here.  We're on break right now -- will go to the #715 pit for an update.  C U soon.

Word from Trimmers (real name is Jeff McVey) is that the front u-joint on the Speed Demon went to pieces.  No complete details on whether it's an easy repair or what.

Nearburg hurt the motor big time - they're done for the event.  Nothing yet from Nish.  Bikes are in their respective pits - well, Assen is just now back.  He elected not to return -- too much wind.

Maybe Ron should replace the drive shaft between runs, seems to be a very weak link. Just a thought.

Speed Demon's turnaround and return attempt:

Andy Nish, umbrella boy.

Reloading the intercooler.

Leaving the pit area.

Stopped on course.

I heard a bang and then the engine sounded real bad...I think it was bouncing off the rev limiter but at the time I was worried that the motor may have let go.
