Erin won't "go" quite as soon as we hoped.  She got to the front of the line, pointed out her rookie sticker, and was told by Miriam that rookies must run on the #2 course- - only.  Dang -- an hour's waiting because we got funky information.  So she and Andy are walking over there, pushing the bike to work off their excitement, and will get in line once again.

Over to the other course -- now about 6th in line.

7796 lakester Thomason and Tradup " Danny Boy II" is a turnout on course #1.

1901 V4F/BGVC is on #2 -- lost fire off the line and is being pushed off now.  Not running right -- bucking and slow.

Next on this course is B/GR 824, Schneider Smith Backstrand.  Warming the motor there, and the 1901 car has just given up and turned out.

824 is off the truck and running now.  Running to the 3 mile marker.  383" Chevy motor sends him through the lights at 171.563, 173+ in the mile.

Bike 931  Paul Friebus at the line on #2.

Salt Cat update.  Yes, they broke the record....and a piston.  They got the XXO/BGALT record at 169.212.  The first foto otta make that clear.

When the team came to register and go thru tech, the SCTA officials treated them very well and said they admired their enthusiasm in the face of adversity.  My opinion, but I think the SC team deserve a great amount of respect for not giving up and gettin the record, even if the piston grenaded.  They'll be back ready to go even faster next year.

Now.  Here's a shot of "Original Mike's" partially streamlined bike and...
...a very strange looking and sounding lakester.  I don't have any info on it, but I'll try to find out what I can.

True but being an SCTA rookie means she still has to dance their dance!

I think it was 2006 BUB when Erin made her first pass on the salt. When she got to the 8 mile she looked at Andy and said "it felt slow" I got her speed from the tower and she had just ran a 143mph. The rest is history
