Hi guys- I made my first ever trip to Bonneville last week and just joined this forum.  I was in SLC with a friend on a business trip and found out the World Finals would be going on while we were there, so we both agreed on a side trip to the Salt Flats.  I happened to find this forum on my Blackberry and it was an invaluable source of info on what was going on on the salt.   We spent all day Thursday there and it was better than I could have imagined.  My favorite car was definitely the Hudson Boys' streamliner (I have a 53 Hornet myself).  I got to see him make that 218 MPH pass on Thursday.

I'm pretty sure we'll be back!

Here's the link to the SCTA site showing the various runs and records and stuff.  I've got yesterday's data on a thumb drive and will get it up here soon -- in the meantime, check it out directly from Ed Safarik.

4127 DA this morning.  Return runs about to start.

288 Ferrari next, running on the 272 record.  Did well enough yesterday -- we're at the 4 1/2 to enjoy the fast ones zooming past.  Good thing the CB reaches down this far, hey?

256.771 quarter, first mile 262.799 , middle 271.226, last mile 274.650 , 276.372 exit.  Impound bound, and a red hat, too!

426 D/GRMR  231.239 last mile -- should be enough, Glen says -- no confirmation from him yet.

Cathy Butler just ran 177.894 in the last mile.  She had qualified by only .16 mph, and Glen says just barely missed backing up the record.  Dang. . .

John Levie on the 3414 runs 52.376 in the first mile, 49.421 in the quarter, 53.499 in the mile.  I think that's good enough -- he ran a 52++ yesterday to get to impound.  If that's the case -- congrats to John of Scott Guthrie Racing's stable of bikes.

Next is bike 6267 on the short course, Matt (something or other) at the controls.  It's a Blast Buell -- 98.827 in the first mile, he shut it off and will go to impound.  He's one of the guys that Nancy and I helped yesterday.  Note to all -- ask us to help crew for you -- seems many, or maybe most, of those we work for -- get to impound.

9169 bike is next, running (more in a minnit) 187.810 in the quarter, 188.355 in the first mile, middle mile slowing down and turning off.  Musta been enough for him.

Next is that A/BFR that ran a 297 yesterday.  Hoping to be the first roadster over 300 -- and this is the big reason we're out here at the 4 1/2 this morning.

297 at the quarter, 304.606 in the mile -- world's fastest hiboy roadster.  WOW o WOW!!

You shoulda heard the shouting and screaming in the timing tower (behind Glen's voice).

Unofficial record is 301.150.  Impound/Warner will certify it, but that's what it looks like from here.

297 in the quarter -- that puts him up near the top speed ever in the quarter, doesn't it?  Strong, stout, great to hear and see.
