Unfortunately not a 300 record, but still a great speed after all the trouble the went through.

Looks they got there technology under controll.

Congratulation for the team - I hope they can go now for the 300 number.

MM's drive shaft looked a lot like a car type...With all that torque it seem the bigger would be called for. I realize there is tire slippage which will take some away.. Bonneville has a learning cure with every run. Hope to see them next year......JD

Well, thanks for setting me straight and "SHUT MY MOUF!"
I'll be the first to apologize for jumping to conclusions from 125 miles away.
I'll echo Glen's and a lot of other sentiments considering what a huge success this meet has been.
Hope to see all in little over a week.

Sure came around quickly. Must have been wheelspin and maybe torque effect.

Pork Pie, the back passed the front, to much tire spin.

Pork Pie, Curt explained that the spin happened on a return run.  He had a nice hot motor and nice hot turbos -- so the car picked up power much faster than he was ready for it.  He got on the throttle and the power hit so fast that he just spun the car.  They turned him back and put him at the zero once again -- and he left the line with a bit more caution on the second attempt.  Good thing -- it was then that he backed up he world record.

The jet bike is going to turn around and make a try in the other direction -- with a two-mile run-up this time.  Still wants to go 200 -- and he's getting closer.  It'll be a little while.

Curt, by the way, explained that the failure of the driveshaft wasn't really the shaft -- but the universals.  The shaft was damaged after the joints let go.  He said there's not enough room in the tunnel for a shaft that's much heftier.

I saw the naked car on Sunday in the Shootout pits and was surprise what a weak frame the streamliner got.

If this spin was cause by a tire spin, the frame twist more than I thought....than he is really weak.

Like any new vehicle, driver and a course he has never run on they are taking the right approach. The learning curve and the list of notes they must be taking has to be long. The trip home and the conversations will be interesting. It's good to see the other LSR people to help where they they can. That's where our sport is well beyond other motor sports. I hope they have great results and come back again.
