Seth's lakester was built by Tim Rochlitzer (Raspberry Rocket) and Ernie Bennett in Santa Barbara.

i think tim built the car about the same time he got his first tube bender.

if you'd ever seen the car without the body panels (i understand seth re-built the chassis and probably wasn't built the same) you would know why: instead of straight lengths of tubing between upper and lower tubes it was one long serpentine-bent tube.

being a fan of progressive rock music i really loved the pretentiousness of the design!

tim bent the roll cages in our ranchero, the capri and the iso and bent up some tubing for the redhead.

Rochlitzer was awarded the WHEELS OF FAME award at the SCTA banquet in Long Beach last Saturday night.

If I remeber correctly Seth HAD to re-build the chassis due to the rule changes. He almost didn't do it and wanted to sell the car at one point, until his son Channing drew up some plans for the chassis. I believe that's the story (at least that's the way Seth tells it). Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

A take a close look at the car behind Seth's lakester. That #42 has made a few laps down the salt.

Both pointed down course and towards the starting line. Kidding aside, #42 is another of the famous and successful salt cars. No pre-run bragging from anyone who ran that car. Wheels on the race track and a timing slip says it all.

Not the same car. The Chrissman coupe was sold to a private buyer for a lot of $$$$$$.

Yes, it is the same car. There was a story in a recent issue of The Rodders Journal.

I did the fotos of Chrisman's car in September 2008 at Gas Up.

I can't see that the Barris car could be the same one unless it was restored to

the same shape as when it was raced.

I don't have the issue at hand. An extensive rebuild, by Art and Mike?, went to the late Joe Mcpherson's collection.
