Assentec Racing, Richard Assen, layed down a 244+ pass in 1350 MPS-BF, and as far as I know is the fastest faired bike and also fast bike of the meet.. If the streamliners don't make a pass then he could go home with about $10K .. Noonan I think fastest unfaired at 234 mph (est.)...
Still waiting on info on Jason McVicar running and maybe Leslie Porterfield might still me coming on strong towards end of meet for some $$$$$$.
What does happen is there are many who could attempt to be the fastest for the $$$$ at the event, and with the wind being so erractic, what im afraid will happen in one of them will make a last ditch effort for the $$$$ and run in a less then acceptable circumstance and have an accident. Usually the speed for $$$$ ends one day before the end of the meet, so that would be Saturday at 6 pm... Actually I think it was 1 pm last year.
I know a few years ago Noonan had top time of meet on a wet course like 215 something and held it for most of the meet, and Hank Booth played possum at the start line, during the last 10 minutes or so Hank went and beat John Noonan out by a few tenths of a mph, Noonan hurried down and make a pass but didnt get the speed. All at the last few minutes of the meet.
