I'd love to hear about the awards if anyone can recall from the banquet while we're waiting for the official word. Here's my guesses based on what I've read so far.

Top Time of the Meet $5,000                                        Rocky Robinson - Top 1 Ack Attack 315 mph
Top Time for a 'Sit-on' Motorcycle $5,000                      John Noonan 251 mph
Top Time for an 'Open' (naked) Motorcycle $5,000       John Noonan 238 mph
Top Time Miles per hour per CC ratio $2,500
Top Time, American V-Twin $1,000                                Jon Minonno 220 mph
Top Time Antique Motorcycle $500
Top Time Motorcycle with Sidecar $800
Top Time Streamliner with Sidecar $800                       John Renwick 156 mph
Women's Spirit Award $1,000
Women's Spirit Award supporter $1,000
Enthusiast of the year $1,000
Coolest Pit Bike beer/trophy
Best Engineered $1,000
Cleanest Pit Area $250

Anymore input to fill in this list?
Thanks!
Debbie

I wonder if anyone verified if it actually had pushrods?  :-o
Anybody got a pic of this steroid of a pushrod bike?

You bet, Debbie.

I didn't attend the banquet, so I was quite surprised to read that John Renwick got the side car streamliner $800 prize money for achieving a speed of 156 mph.  I have a side car streamliner, and  Don Angel, riding that side car streamliner got a timing slip of 166 mph+.

Will someone in authority please explain why Lambky's Liner/Black Lightning didn't get the $800 as it was the faster of the two?

Max,
According to the run log they have you in the 3000 S PBF class. To the best of my knowledge the S would indicate Streamliner. I believe you would have needed to be in the class 3000 SCS PBF since SCS is Sidecar Streamliner.

That's my take on it. I'm still sitting in Virginia so you'll need to work all that out with Bub. I'm just speculating on what I see.

Hope you can get it worked out!

STREAMLINING -----  deb i will make some guesses here but its just for comparison----if your bike has a cd of .561  and a frontal area of 6.01  it would take you 184.7 rear wheel hp to go 200 mph----if you changed the cd to .3 and the frontal area to 5.5 (both do able) you could go  251 mph with 184.5 hp  just some thoughts------willie buchta

thanks deb for all of your work getting all the runs posted for bub

251 wasnt that the speed that JN ran for the $5000

Max,
I looked over the logs again after speaking with Todd. He said y'all ran with & without the sidecar. I looked and they have you down running under bike 785 and 2785 but both have the same class. I guess you can get that sidecar on & off pretty quick since you were running with & without in the same day. Looks like someone messed up the paperwork someplace. Why would you go to the trouble of paying two entries & running two numbers if you weren't planning to be in 2 classes!

Hope you get it worked out!

Jon Minono won the fastest American V-twin with a pass of 220.

I think the 750 going 180+ was the English guy with the rolls royce tow rig.  I think it was a triumph or something like that.

That fast 750 M-PG was a Triumph Trident with Amal carbs yet! No one was more surprised than me to see him make those kind of speeds. When I heard it go by, I thought it had a speed triple motor in it. I knew that if anyone built a stout Trident or even a CX Honda I'd have some trouble but not THAT much. My motor guy, Mike Rich, says they have real short pushrods, can spin to 11K, and make some serious power. Oh well, I'll have to be happy going tit for tat with the San Jose BMW guys.

Thanks Debbie.

I paid my entry fee for two riders and two classes.  I received from Delvene four numbers.  785 was Don Angel's side car number.  2785 was Hartmut Weidelich's side car number.  ALL RUNS MADE DURING THE 2008 BUB MEET WERE MADE WITH THE SIDE CAR ATTACHED.

The side car WAS NEVER REMOVED to make a solo run.  The numbers without the side car for solo runs, given me by Delvene were 1785 for Don Angel, and 3785 for Hartmut Weidelich.  ALL RUNS MADE DURING THE 2008 BUB MEET BY LAMBKY'S LINER/BLACK LIGHTNING WERE MADE WITH THE SIDE CAR ATTACHED.

Tom Mellor's bike is a 750 Triumph triple and yes it has pushrods.  Its also very slippery.  Heres a link to some photos.  Goes to prove you don't need one of those spinny, whirly things to go fast.

Get off the stove Grandad.  You're too old to be riding the range.
