Since SSS posted mosta what I woulda done from the start line, I'll just do a few before I fade away in to zombieland.

1.  Do drop in.

2.  I love this artillery-wheeled Model T Speedster.  Way kool.

3.  What better car to have at Bonneville than a Pontiac Bonneville...with a 421 motor?

4.  One from the car show/cruise in at the Nugget.  They were stackin 'm deep and I just ran outta steam...completely.  But not before gettin a shot of this car that I've seen for the last few years.  While I feel for the poor rat caught in the throttle pedal trap, I gotta admit that it's a kool concept.

G'nite.

Joe's bike looks mostly the same as last year except now he is the in the 1350cc class vs 1000cc last year. So there must have been a motor change.
Don

Although it looks the same, and is still the same chassis, it is a totally brand new fiberglass body for Joe (body by Beatnick- Stacey J. Becker), refined from last year. Motor upgrade to about 1100cc, so that puts him in the 1350 class. New tires, both front and rear were needed for the speeds Joe was running. There are also some changes to the exhaust, and some weight distribution changes.

It's bedtime, but first a few items.  Joe Amo ran a 115 or so and turned out at around the 2 1/2 or so.  I heard the announcer on 1610 AM, ron Christensen, say that Joe's bike has a 1080 cc motor this year.  If Richard Assen is here -- I haven't seen him or his bike.  I'll look tomorrow.  No word about Jason McVicar, either.

Now the bad news:  Dan Warner just called from the impound area.  There was a computer farkle today and there are therefore no reports of who qualified and at what speed.  In fact, he said, EVERYONE that ran today, according to the 'puter, qualified.  Maybe it wasn't that way -- I'll blame the bad cellphone connection -- but Dan said they're expecting to have things sorted out soon, and then I'll get that information for you.  Mind you it was about 10.30 this evening that he called - and they were still out on the salt trying to sort out the troubles.  That's dedication!

Good night, all.  C U Tomorrow.

On my way up the elevator I shared it with some speed demon crew members and asked them what was up with the car and they responded that they needed to sort some things out before they can make a good run.  I also asked them about the fish and they said that they were having valve problems.

The 788 Rick Yacoucci driven Jimmy Stevens Flathead went to impound with a 306 mph speed, they got 1 burned piston fixed and will do the return run!

Ed Safarik, SCTA webmaster, told me at the coffee room this morning that he's got a listing of the qualifiers from yesterday, so I'll get those to you pretty soon.  We're going to finish our java then go out to the Salt.  C U ina little while.

Great news Jon, thanks.

A quick scan on the results showed that Randall Parker went 187 on M/G-1000 - that is flying!!! Congrats.

Also, Fred Vance went 199 in M/G-1350, almost 200 naked on gas.

Any pics of these bikes?
