Yeah , we think there's more, data log shows 60% tps and wheel spin then backing off to 35% and rpms going up at 35%. So, a little slower on throttle and not getting sideways on start might do it.

Troy will try to post videos when he has time.

Troy's not the only one with an exciting run.

Following troy in his motorhome ON 99 BANG left tire on truck blew out.  Truck and trailer crossed up could see whole side of trailer in mirror, steering like crazy halfway straightened out but trailer weaving a lot, slowed down to side of road but no place to pull over. Troy saw what happened and pulled over so followed him at creep speed about a mile on rim. Finally got the spare down and only about 5 miles to tire shop and 4 new tires and $1400 later.

I've had several blow outs on the trailer and sometimes never know it. I thought i was going to wreck.

It was a great weekend, great track no problems with traction in 3rd gear.  I was a little too aggressive with the throttle and really trying to go fast at this meet.  Mission accomplished with more on the table.

After 252mph run data log showed high EGT reading on #5 cyl.

So removed head, pistons and head champers all looked Ok
Removed #5 exhaust valve, valve and seat looked great. Since head was off I removed all valves and lapped them, but not really needed and with so little run time height and spring pressure not needed to be checked so assembly went faster.

Looking at spark plugs in tune up they #5 plug looks a little richer.

  Maybe an adjustment at Bville

Started her up Sat and no leaks, ran thru the gears everything good.
Removed jack stands and drained gas.

Give her a wash next weekend and load up.

I have a question, this car seems to have much wider tires that I am used to seeing as I am learning.  Is there a reason?  Maybe a dual purpose car?

I have a question, this car seems to have much wider tires that I am used to seeing as I am learning.  Is there a reason?  Maybe a dual purpose car?

Unlike others we like the 10 inch wide tires with times of 280 mph in the 21/4 AND 294 mph in the 1st timed mile at Bville with 2 more miles to go and on parts wash.
Only a few door slammers have gone that fast in the 2/14 and they have been blown fuel cars

Also 252 mph last May at El Mirage setting record 30 mph over old record.

I have seen cars on the dyno with the skinny tires spinning the tires when reaching 800 hp.

I also have experience with 6 in drag tires in 1957. My twin brother and I had a blown Olds Street roadster that had a top time of 121 mph at that time, 124 1n 1959.

Low gear was useless spinning tires like in neutral so started in 2nd gear, still spun tires for 60 ft or more resulting 1n ET of only 12.3 sec most of time.

At San Luis Obispo drags in 1959 I got sideways at over 120 mph.

we didn't have suspension knowledge in those days but added 150 lbs. in back and 16lbs air pressure to increase contact patch

Also, we have a 4 link suspension with soft shock settings, so that helps our times.
