Maybe Intrepid could use some of the $5mil Gov grant they got to "help save the salt" & turn up the pumps to suck the water level down.
Nah.. I bet they already spent that for lunch money.
Actually the real situation will likely be since we had a big winter the water table will already be high so soak in will be minimum. Intrepid could open the gate & flow it off but they're not there to help us. They'll use it to their best advantage by either letting it soak in or holding it for optimum saturation, the last thing they want is evaporation.
Now that the crust is so depleted the water soaks in rather than evaporating like it used to when there was a solid crust but I expect it's already saturated. Intrepid is pulling more salt through their pumps now as apposed to flowing the top off, this is why we see the canals flowing more than we used to.
These weather patterns have evolved over the last few years to what have now & it appears to be the new normal. I'm 100+ miles down wind from the salt & we had seven months of harsh winter here with a big snow pack but it just rolled into raining once it warmed up-ish. It's a whole 60 deg at midday right now.
