Wind has just come up in the last 30 minutes.  I'm at impound and it's 10-15 mph crosswind.

Here's a shot of Nancy just as I tod her, "Don't forget to boogie!" as Bob Hite from Canned Heat used to say.  Hope it settled a coupla butterflies.

There are 12 cars & bikes in impound, not bad for 3 hours.

I'll follow up with photos asap.

This is the life, wandering around the salt flats with a netbook reading Landracing forum amidst the action.  Yeh, looks like the wind affected Nancy's run, but things are moving right along and I expect she will be back in line shortly.

Well -- Jim Jensen, the starter, told us there's a strong left-to-right crosswind -- and sure enough, she ran a 173 in the quarter and the wind blew her off the right side of the course -- she missed the light at the 3 mile and aborted the run.  She's okay and now has learned something about the wind.

Spirit of Rett just ran a strong 379 and more out the back door -- something (maybe the chute) came off the car and the emergency vehicles are checking to see if it's the chute or just the bag.  No report of an incident.

I'll head back to the pits now.  But the wind is still strong out here at about the 4.

Swedish Street Rod lakester: young crewmember cleaning the salt from the tires and a shot showing that there really IS a flathead motor in there.

The 768B Streamlined Triumph and its real interesting supercharger arrangement.

More as I edit 'em.

Any time that a foto has a wide white border when you open it, click on it and the image will enlarge to fill the entire area. The narrow

border doesn't work that way. The black Ardun roadster is an example of this principle.

Rick Yaccouci told me that he was lucky to be in impound cuz he put the gears in upside-down, which geared it for 330...and he ran 260-something.

John Rains ran 280 on a 260 record.  He was happy.

The Red vette was at Bubs on display.  The owner said it will go 250 plus. has a crazy big turbo and a huge intercooler in the passenger seat.

Well, I gave ya photos of many of the cars in impound and the speeds that I knew.  SSS is (in addition to crew-chiefing and landracing-ing) now the tower announcer.  He's doin a great job.

The Vesco 444 liner is running the B class Chevy motor.  Photos soon.  I'm just leaving their pit.
