Are you sure?  I just got three rooms for two different friends (and 2 credit card numbers ;-) ) for Thursday through Saturday, double queens at Montego, and I can see Peppermill still has rooms for Sunday night and forward.

You CAN'T use the form at the top . . . you have to use the flash ad in the middle of the page.  If anyone is having problems, PM me and I'll send the direct links.  (I don't want to post them here because then you'd not see the conditions)

You guys are awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! I went back to the site and clicked on the flash point and got a room, no problem. Two beds, smoking, but I can live with that, and at the Montego. Stayed there last year and loved the place. Thanks again and again. Oh, by the way, I'm seriously looking at a gas roadster out of Oregon. We are close on a deal so you will probably run into me at Speedweek in a RED(color) Gas Roadster. Mike Cook and Capt. Billy were the builders and I trust thier work.
Hope the rest get acommidations,
Dave Haller

I followed the same instructions as Dave Haller but could only get a smoking room for Sun/Mon/Tue.
I guess the whole team will bring blowups and sleeping bags and crash on the floor. Kind of like
drag racing in the old days, 16 guys in one room. We'll just come in a couple days late or commute
between Wells and Bendover...........Ed

 Slim or anyone

Thanks for pushing for more heads and dumpsters I think we'll need them. If you go up the road at the bend how big an area is there to camp and how flat is it? Where is the dike in relation to the bend in the road and what other camping spots are there, or allowed?
How about a simple map showing areas and location of heads?

                  Thanks JL222

Just checked this morning and there are still rooms available through wendoverfun.com.  They are a little pricey, but the new system to get rooms beats hanging on a phone for hours.

JL222:

First of all -- a map?  What do you think I am -- good?  Seriously -- there's not much of a map except in my head -- as the John Co. drivers and I drive around and drop off potties here and there.  I don't have a pre-printed map.  There'll be three or four inside the corner and a pair, I think, a hundred feet or so off the road some hundred or so yards east (towards Land's End) in the flat area.  I don't remember precisely enough to tell you where the ones that'll be up the road (towards the hills) will be -- I'll put them someplace where access is easy enough - that's all I can say right now.  And don't forget that access has to be easy enough to get the pumper truck in there to service the units!

As for how much camping space there is up the road -- it's wide open, but not as easy to access as on the flat ground nearer the road.  The terrain is mostly slanting uphill, with lots of flat spots where you could camp.  However -- access isn't wide-open -- there are enough berms and ditches that you'll need to scout out a place where you'll be able to get in and out.  Go farther up the road and you'll find some flatter ground - but then, it's farther up the road.  Quite a few folks camp up there because of the distance from the Bend -- it's therefore quieter.  But to answer the question about how much room -- zillions of square feet.  Probably more room than there is closer to the Bend in the Road.  It's a little more difficult to get to, that's all.

We've got lots of potties -- but not so many that we'll scatter them hither and yon all over the area.  I think we've contracted for enough to put a half-dozen in the Bend in the Road area.

I was a little frustrated that the top form worked the way it did - I spent almost an hour using it.  If I hadn't come to this forum to see someone else had been able to get rooms it would have taken a while to finally see that other entry point.

I wonder how many folks the "no cancellations" policy scared off, or the economy.  I'm the one that often gets 6 rooms for our teams - and they all get used by 2 to 4 adults.  This year I got one for me, and did it for 3 others where they gave me their credit card details - they all had problems with the site being overloaded or only used the top form.  Couldn't reach one person, and one has decided to do Wells or the BITR.

need someone to park all the campers  in a nice row (like a rv park) 4 feet apart so every one will have room to camp, and no saving spots.  should be a mess, lots of  mad campers that dont want to camp but have to. hope it dont rain. It was about 10k to get Boyds motorhome out of the mud.

Just a quick note here, to avoid any complications later... Other than myself and my Security team, no one else can park/camp at Land's End.  You can drop your racing trailers off and we will keep them secure for you until Tech day, as long as they're not too large, but you must understand there is not enough room for camper trailers, motorhomes, etc.  Also, there is NO camping on the salt around Land's End.  I can only protect so much!!

Thanks,

Lynda

Oh, I have an idea we could try next year. OK here it is. We pool about 200 racers that are going to need rooms in Wendover. We call the Casino in December and say we are with the Lawers Socialization Reunion (LSR). 200 of us rich lawyers would like to come into Wendover in August for a big week of gambling and golf and more gambling.

I bet the casinos couldn't book your rooms fast enough. Probably give a discount rate.
