The "Salt Snake" goes to Impound!!
« on: August 19, 2008, 06:31:54 PM »
Team Bullett, the Costella-Gullett Motorcycle Streamliner Race Team ran yesterday and posted a 198.598 for the Quarter, then ran 203.677 for Mile 1, followed by a 210.691 for Mile 2, and a 216.592 for Mile 3, with an exit speed of 219.604.
That qualified the liner to go to impound, but Cliff felt there was more in this new 497cc motor, so with some fine tuning, he went out late this morning and turned a 206.373 for the Quarter, then a 211.545 for Mile 1, followed by a 221.108 for Mile 2, and then a 227.278 for Mile 3, with an exit speed in excess of 230MPH.
So the 7070 "Salt Snake" will run tommorow morning in an attempt to break the Motorcycle Streamliner 500cc Gas record set by the legendary Don Vesco in 1976 at 195.282.
Good luck to the Team Bullett crew. Go Fast/Be Safe.

Really happy to see it in impound today.  For some reason I'm a big fan of this car from last year when it was painted white.  Maybe it's the amazing use of space in this design or the high bar you guys have set for records but I'm puling for you for sure.  I think the best time last year was around 170mph wasn't it with the 250?
