Had a comment about Dave Matson, but the thread aint no more.
Hey Scott, when Matson set the 225 mph, here's what I understand. The fairing was actually fiberglass. A few years back the thing caught on fire and has since been changed to a hand formed aluminum fairing. Since the fire Dave has carried a fire extinguisher, however it's not required by the rules. The first pass on the 225 mph, was if I remember 234 mph. It slowed down a lot on the return due to a broken valve spring. The bike then and now has the same hand made fuel injectors, and on the 225 mph he was running 85% nitro. The bike at that time was 1600cc. He's now in the process of building a big Vincent. I think it's going to be close to 2000cc. BTW no tow up with a four speed. He takes the big stroker to 7300rpm in third, as it won't pull fourth unless he wings the hell out of third.
