Just heard yesterday that he had a relapse. This one is tough, Ron and I had many go-arounds over the years. Memories I will treasure.

It is no secret Ron and I locked horns on the Rear Engine Modified Roadster deal, but I still respected him for his accomplishments in LSR. My condolences to the Benham family.

I had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with Ron at the salt, and learning just to little from him, but I got to see alot of his work go real fast. It was an honor to meet and spend some time with him.
Rest easy.

Ron was the Smoky Yunik of LSR. He knew the rule book and how far to use it to his advantage. There were many arguments over the years on the wording. Led to changes more then once. I agreed with him on the rear engine roadster and the modern tech available to make them run straight and fast. He was a great builder and fabricator. Ron will be missed and remembered for his ideas and guts to make them happen.
