thought it was worth a note that Terry Nish will be inducted into the Utah Motor Sports hall of fame tonight.

Congratulations Terry!

Induction is actually Tues Nov 13. All of us here in Utah are quite proud of Terry's Family accomplishments.

A few months before speedweek last year in another format I made a comment about the Nish video. I mentioned that I thought the video was great but made a comment in an attempt to be funny.

You have to be careful at times because you don’t always know how someone will take a comment even if your intent was to just make a joke.

You can imagine my surprise when the Royal Purple van pulled up in front of my trailer in the pits and Terry gets out and I thought he was going to be pissed for sure.

Terry explains that Mike read the comment and yelled to him (Terry) who was in the next room; “who the f- is Jonny Hotnuts???”…..

I tried to explain that I was only making a joke and did not want to upset anyone and Terry said that they loved it, was the type of humor they have and he wanted to meet the guy with the “hotballs”. He spent about 30 minutes hanging out BSing about this and that.

We were also getting our motors checked for CI at the same time and Terry (even though busy) again came over to us on the other side of tech to talk for a few minutes. We thought that was really cool of Terry and was one of the highlights of our trip that he made such an effort to BS and laugh with us. And it all started by a tongue in cheek comment that could have been taken wrong.

I have sense come to know more about Terry and the Nish group.

Good people and Terry deserves this honor for more than just being fast.

I recently had the privilege of meeting Terry Nish at SEMA.   He's a great guy with an obvious life-long passion for racing... we shot this 10 minute interview with him to see how things are going.    I'm sure we could have chatted for hours!   Thanks Terry!
