post cards
« on: September 07, 2007, 07:04:42 PM »
First trip to the salt this year and wanted to send a ton of Post cards to everyone. Could not find any at the SCTA booth. I ask a couple of people they said they had looked all over including Wendover for Bonneville post cards but couldnt find any.  SCTA could sell a bunch if they were avaliable. Would also like to see a  penant like the baseball guys have. saw an old photo of a 1949 Bonneville penant  it would sell well if reissued in a modern format.

Postcards? They still make those things?

You can do much better. Buy the Bonneville Speed Week T-shirt and write an address on it and stick a stamp on it and mail it. The recipient will feel MUUUUCHHH better!
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.
Just remember . . . It isn't life or death.
It's bigger than life or death! It's RACING.

There were post cards at the truck stop at the road to  the salt, the RainBow and Peppermill casinos gift shops and I would think the visitors center across from the Peppermill. I bought a couple at the truck stop.

I bought all my B'ville postcards at a rest stop east of SLC on I-80 - they had fistfuls of them.

Thanks for all the good tips. Being my first time to the salt I didn't know the area . I did find the car wash at the Chevron station and the Burger king next door in Wendover.  For a Midwest boy that's wild and crazy stuff.
