autoclave and what you wife likes
« on: September 05, 2007, 06:40:34 PM »
Hello 1212FBGS

I hope you don't take this like a total stranger coming up and asking about what your wife likes, but do you have an autoclave at your 'shop/business' ?

All this time I thought an autoclave was a big breasted woman, or was that cleave.

Hey, Kent -- if you're in the market for an autoclave -- I've got one that's available for you.  Approx. 6 feet diameter, 11 feet long.  Has all the associated systems to make it run -- hard vacuum pump (down to at least 2.5psiA, maybe harder vacuum), 3 million BTU/hr natural gas boiler rated up to 100 psi, computer operating controls, water treatment facility, all piping and automatic valves.  Works well.

Is this the kind of autoclave you're talking about?

oops.......here I am trying to be funny like with the wife comments and trying to use big words and all

I guess I was really asking about just an oven for curing prepregs....not an autoclave for sterilizing.

An autoclave is a pressurized oven. Composites generally don't need pressure, or to put it another way, the gains are minimal.

A vacuum oven is more like what you may be referring to.

With vacuum bagging the only thing you need is an oven.
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.
Just remember . . . It isn't life or death.
It's bigger than life or death! It's RACING.
