How does the Point system work for Scta?

I see on the front page of the SCTA web site that team McLeish 760B was top points Champion "972".

If you are a member of SCTA you can through your club get a copy of the El Mirage operating procedures. All of the lakes rules and info is in it. It's free and will answer all of your questions. It's a little lone to answer here.

Basic deal is you run against your existing class record or minimum. Your speed is calculated as a percentage of the record:

 Your speed
 -----------   x 200 = points
 Record/Min

If you set a record you receive 200 points +25 bonus points + 1 point for each FULL mph over the old record. The trick is to rack up the 1 pointers. Your point standing determines your starting position at the next lakes meet. If two entries set a record in the same class at a given meet the fastest receives all the bonus points, the other gets a flat 200 points.

 Real simple,
