I expect some of you would like to know her state of getting all better, hey? Here's a quick report:
Nancy suffered a seizure in mid-September - her first indication that anything was amiss. She went to the hospital, was scanned and MRI-ed and X-rayed and Ultra-Violated and they found a meningioma - a non-cancerous growth in her skull. It'd likely been growing for a couple of years. It was about 6cm dia -- about 2 1/3 inches, or just a titch smaller than a tennis ball. TENNIS BALL!!! Three weeks ago today the surgeon removed it (used a 2" hole saw I lent her so I could feel more a part of the get-well-soon crowd. It was brand new, from the hole saw kit I got from Rob Freyvogel some years back).
Anyway, Nancy has been home for 2 1/2 weeks after having all that stuff done - and WTF?, she has yet to take even a Tylenol for pain relief. I didn't expect the total lack of ouchitude. No narc pills, no vodka, no nuthin'.
Other than some laziness that lingers - she's doing pretty danged well and quite enjoying her forced hiatus from the salt mines of the Upper Peninsula. And -- ready for this? She's already TOLD me that she's going to go to SpeedWeek 2022.
How 'bout them apples?
