Steering damper for motorcycle

Can someone recommend a damper or where to by them if you want to go between 120-180 mph...

depends on how much money you want to spend and what bike you are putting on.

There are a lot of choices.

Keep in mind that, how it's mounted and how snug you set it can have a big impact on the handling of the bike at speed. So you may think you have the right one for your bike, and then turn out, you have to remount or replace it with another style or brand. Every bike acts different.

Pingel has a universal for around $150 with 7 settings, Ohlins sells them from $300-700...are they worth the extra $ ?

For around $80 you can get the old Kawasaki style damper which is very good, but uses rubber bushes for the mounts, so after a few years will need replacing
For around $100 look for a damper made by Daytona which is an improvement on the Kawasaki style in that it uses rose joint at the mounting points

Both of these on eBlag or other internet sellers

As was already mentioned you can get all kinds of dampers on eBay. Most are universal fit and you have to make custom mounts. I bought a push-pull damper from China for about $60 and it was a work of art. But it was a challenge to fit it on my GPZ750.

Scott's was one of the first ones that are fitted to the middle of the steering/handlebar instead of one of the fork legs and a bit of the frame.  Scott's and GPR are similar, too, and they're about 4" wide and 3" tall and maybe 1" thick.  They're got adjuster knobs right on top of the damper so you can easily and quickly adjust from tight, for racing down the course, to loose so you can easily maneuver in the pit and onto your trailer. 

Both of these bolt directly to the handlebar (area) and to a stationary "peg" mounted on the top of the frame.  I'll see if I can find a picture or a link to them.

for the last forty something years i have only used the Old style Kawasaki dampers on a number of "fast" dragbikes, at present i have one on my ZX12 running speeds in the 200 range, have "never" had an issue with them, except as Queezie has stated above, the rubber bush chunks out over time, , thay are not  "bling", but functional, ,,,
