Push start bar with ball in it

Anyone know who makes the pushbar for putting on the racecar that has the little ball at the end?

We made our own, roller balls come in different sizes and mount type, ours is a 1 in ball welded to a tube.

Google image or Ebay & search conveyor ball. You can get stainless or nylon if you're going to the salt.

I built my own on both liners by taking a oiece of heavy wall tubing and champhering the inside on a lathe, welding a piece of 16 ga, tubing to it that stuck out just past the center of the ball and tapping gently with a hammer to curl the thin wall around the ball enough to hold it in. An occasional shot with spray lube keeps it free and I never had any problems with it. I believe I used a 1" steel ball from McMaster-Carr but obviously the tubing must be sized to suit the ball being used. I hope this helps someone.

Roller transfer units are used on conveyors to allow boxes to move in any direction. Basically a big captured ball.
SKF bearings has a complete catalog with bearing load ratings to 4,000 lb.

Most of those that I have seen are pretty bulky. Maybe that is not important to many.
