Are there any Bonneville stickers on it, it might help narrow it down. I don't remember a SR class. Would tak me a little time to dig in the old file.

I am going apart the body and see if I can find anything else that has markings. It also has the original chute, and FIrestone Land Speed tires that look as they ddod new. I also believe that this car dragged raced in the 60's-early 70's.
I would really like to bring this thing gack to life on the salt :D

There quite a few Devins which raced at the salt, Moon being the most famous. Sports Racing turned into the Gas Streamliner because of the creations of Nolan White and Jack Lufkin. S/R does narrow the years down I'll also look up the years I have but Glen will probably beat me to it. I believe "F" is still the same engine size of todays...J.D.

I looked back to 1962 and there is no pre entry number 551 F/SR  sports racing class listed. It may have been entered on ththe salt. I don't have all of the results but will keep looking.

F Sports Racing is an SCCA class.
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.
Just remember . . . It isn't life or death.
It's bigger than life or death! It's RACING.

The SCCA may have a f sports class but I dont think anyone running SCCA would use those tires or have a chute in the back. probably converted to a lsr car in its late life and never changed the graphics. it would be a cool car to restore and race. good luck with your project.

Years ago I bought Glen Deed's car which was a one off design, and that is why they made a rule that no one offs could be built and that so many must be made to be legal (100 or 500 I forget). I do remember you had to have two seats in the car to be legal to run in the class.

The "F" engine class breaks were 175 to 229 C.I. for unblown cars (except streamliners) in the late 60's and early 70's.

Yep, Glen & Nolan White both ran SR (Sports Racer?) in the mid 60's, along with Jack Lufkin. Glen was a forward thinker... wonder what he would say if he were here with us today about the demise of his all wheel drive roadster, what a shame, a mans dream wiped away by a pen stroke.

I should have said the "F" engine class was 175 to 229 for Production class cars (unblown).  For gas classes which Sports Racing was one, the breaks were 0 to 183 C.I. for "F" engines.

There is a gentleman here in Salt Lake who ran a ZL-1 69 Camaro called the supersnail also. His name Is Click Bamberger. He was into all sorts of racing endeavors back in the 60's and 70's. It may be one of his old cars as I have heard he was quite a collector.
