Here's the page about checking oil level -- and Honda continues to disappoint me. They mention the dipstick -- but don't say anything about how to read it. Yes, having the oil level right at the mount of the filler is easy -- but why bother with the dipstick being graduated/crosshatched - if it doesn't mean anything?
The book continues to cornfound -- because I had to look for quite a while to learn the capacity of the crankcase. It's, for the sake of this discussion, .25L -- a little more than a half-pint. But where the book goes through initial set-up instructions it DOES NOT mention how much oil to add, rather telling (me) to add enough to bring it to the lip of the filler neck. That's fine -- but wouldn't it be nice to have an idea of how much it'll take to get it there?
Yeah, I know -- bitch, bitch, bitch. Be happy that the generator is otherwise such a nice little unit.
