I want to put Moon discs on my '21 GMC Canyon using weld-on tabs and Dzus. Nothing unusual - - but where there heck do I get the wheels? I'd settle for used spare tire wheels (not mini spares) from the junk yard, I'd consider new.
But why the heck can't I find 'em? Are plain steel wheels a thing of the past?

Because....In 2021 The General switched calipers to a different design that does not allow clearance for the steel wheel. 🤔

But but but Jerry, the spare that came with the truck would be dandy - if I could find three mates for it.

Well bro'.....I believe if you slide under the truck and have a looksie...That spare tire is a full size temporary on a 16 inch wheel. You will need 3 more wheels and 4 tires. Wonder if you could mount the Moons on the alum. wheel??

Maybe you could have someone drill and tap the wheels and mount the moons with screws
Sometimes you just have to screw it

Or...drill/tap and use long Dzus tabs 🤔 Could probably blind rivet them too. ( Drill and tap? Wondered when this thread would go there)

I've tried all three types: screw-on, snap-on, and Dzus buttons & tabs. No doubt in my mind - the others haven't stayed in place over the summer.
I like Stainless' idea. Gotta find someone around here. Tnx.

Reliability and performance are highly overrated.

Any landspeed racers in the Elkhorn, Nebr area? Set of 4 steels for 200 bucks. I am guessing there would/should be the same kinda deal locally in the UP? Heck, you could swing by Lincoln Nebr (just a hop skip and a jump from Elkhorn) and pick up the spun discs from speedway the same day!

Reset the FB filter to Grand Rapids and bunch of steel rims popped up. And every last one of them was practically rusted thru. I am amazed SSS's Canyon doesn't have high sky-high blood pressure with that much salt laying around.

Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a 388-mile ride from here. Grand Rapids, Minnesota, is 349 miles. Neither would be convenient. Try 100 miles from Marquette, Michigan and let me know, k?

Michigan, Minnesota, all those border states look the same to me. Flat, white, lakey. And lutefisk.

Jon, do they look like this? If so welding a tab between the legs would be simple... probably easy to find location without a jig.

Ebay shows several sizes, steel spare tire wheels. Some cheap but high shipping, others more expensive with free shipping. Whats your budget? But junk yard might be best bet though if the older ones don't fit as Jer suggests might be harder to find.
