In another topic I posted that Nancy had brain surgery a few days ago. Here are a few details:
Okay, not really brain surgery, but - a meningioma* had grown to tennis ball size and needed to get removed. The doctor used a hole saw from Harbor Freight and opened her cranium, dug around in there with a toothpick and 3/4" breaker bar and took it out. Post-op scans show nothing's left - the doc got all of it. Of course Nancy now has a big cavern where the thing was, but it'll fill up with CSF eventually. I think the sawbones put some steel wool in there as a placeholder.
Nancy'll get home tomorrow, we suspect, and the surgeon says she can expect to go back to work by Halloween or so. For the sake of it, the lesion (correct name) displaced brain as it grew for a couple of years, but Nancy suffered no ill effects or symptoms. We had no clue that anything weird was going on.
* Look it up. It's rarely cancerous - Nancy's isn't and showed no signs whatever, so we aren't concerned about that issue.
