Nice speeds this weekend
« on: June 27, 2011, 06:41:35 AM »
June lived up to being Hot and Humid, but gave us a window that conditions came around.  Congrats to James Hight for being over 200 naked on the turbo GSXR 750.  Even if he did knock a hole in the oil pan on the way up the return road.  Dean with a 245 on the turbo ZX-10 and Bill with all the 200 mph wheelies to keep our attention.  It was a small crowd, but a great time.  The vounteers worked hard in the sun for us so a big thanks to you all.  Our ZX-6 had a good weekend with a 203.2 pass, 2nd fastest in the World for the N/A 650cc on the mile.  We tried for our 184.1 record, but just couldn't get there.  Looking forward to seeing everyone in Loring, or back in Maxton in September.
2006 Kawasaki ZX-6rr (Worlds Fastest standing mile and 1.5 mile)
2008 Kawasaki ZX-10R (4 200 MPH Clubs)
2008 Kawasaki EX-250R (Multiple ECTA and LTA records)
131 Land Speed Records set since 2008
125 Land Speed Racing records (including 3 Worlds Fastest Speeds) set since 2008.

Thanks Greg, I agree it was a great weekend, but unless I missed something HUGE, there's a little typo in your post  :-D

Congrats also to Roy (wrongway) and Ali (shiphteey) who went 220 on Roy's nitrous ZX14

Naked 200 on a 750 is frickin' bananas! WTFG James!

:-oThat is a huge mistake.  183.254 mph for the 6.  I must be tired.  Eric, I didn't remember the number you ran, but I knew it was good.  Thanks Dean for keeping me straight.

Greg you ran awesome speeds this weekend, like always, great job.  Put some spray on the 650 and run 200!

Eric, Jarl, Robert ("Club 250") continue to push the limits of small-motor racing.

This is Jarl Riding my bike. The last shift is at about 3/4 mile and the end of the video is at about a mile. I cant believe a 15 cubic inch engine can make that much noise. Turn it up loud and listen to the wheel hop over the bumps.

Your exhaust tunes sure hurt one's ears at the lights...how many rpm's??? I had to wait for you to turn out in short shut down to announce your speed...if not, all the people would hear was your music!

All the small bore bikes are fun to watch and the speeds from those small engines is impressive.

I think there should be a new 200 club just for the little bikes.  Not 200 mph . . rather 200 decibels (dB).

One Ninja 250 with twin megaphones was down right painful in short shutdown, even at a low rpm, especially with the echo chamber we now have with the 'walls' through short down.  If I am fortunate to make another meet this year I am bringing ear plugs, headphones, two rolls of r-20 insulation and duct tape for my ears . . . . :-D
