Due to some personal issues, I just barely got here...well, about an hour ago.  But I wasn't even close to the salt when I saw the first "mishap."  I dunno why people always think they can drive on the mud, but every time....

And a quick coupla Indian photos of slightly different types.

Got a text from the Daly boys a couple of hours ago...

Joe went 130.8 first run. Going to impound

Received Sun Aug 28, 12:44pm (Central time)

"Joe" would be Joe Daly's nephew. Congrats!
Each unexpected discovery is first ridiculed, then objected to and finally considered self evident

Bottom photo is "Sodium Distortion".  Don't know the top photo.
Get off the stove Grandad.  You're too old to be riding the range.

Thanks for the help, man!  Sodium Distortion looks a little different from last year...if my steel trap memory hasn't screwed up again.  :)

(nothin ever gets out of that steel trap)

SD has an all new party dress.  Watching the body build was very interesting.  Great work.

update for the 4838 team nephew Joe riding ... down run 130.082 for the record in A750/PBG ... retturn was strong over 130 entry into timed mile followed but noticeable loss of power with exit speed of 105 ... two way average 117.5xx ... get engine sealed in impound and back to pits to see what went bad. I found the rear exhaust pipe broke off about a half inch out of the hold down flange.  Have the lads breaking it down and we will get it welded and be back tomorrow. good news engine and turbo are both still good for more thrashing. Ray ... stop down we at the north end right on the mtn course ... Joe

Now I can provide a little more info about the photos...maybe not the speeds, but the bike/rider/builder/etc.

First one is Leslie Porterfield returning after a run on the international course.

Next is Sam Wills' Big Boar Bagger that looks like it otta be towing the little pit truck.

Then  young lady who raced an 80cc (or so) scooter last year...I recognized her on the Honda and she told me that shre just wanted to go faster.  :)  Her name is Karena Markham.

And then there's the Brough Superior with a gentleman who introduced himself as Alastair and said that since he built the bike a photo of him on it would be a good thing.  I agreed.

I'm gonna head off for dinner after this and be back in the morning when the air isn't quite so hot and doesn't distort the images like that of Leslie's.

We are loaded up and heading to Wendover ... tomorrow we are going to get it welded ... might mod it all to make it easier to get on and off.  Not a bad day ...

We are in the next group to go out ... running a timing test bike right now ... there are 10 down at start for each course already.  Great radio signal from the 89.7 FM broadcast ... just waiting for the first launch.

It would be fantastic if someone could broadcast this FM broadcast via internet. Is that possible?
