If you can book the night tour of Alcatraz, do it. It is more interesting than the day tour and isn't as crowded. Be sure to get the audio tour headphones.

We were out there yesterday.  It's a tad bumpy from Land's End to the pits, and a mite damp around the pits, and we didn't go out to the course area at all for an observation.  But it's white everywhere we went, so that's good.

We leave the motel in a little while to go strew the salt with 70 or so toilets, and once that's done we'll have been all over the entire area -- and will have lots more information about what we find.  It's sunny and cool -- low 70s or so -- here in town.  Can't beat that with a stick, hey?

In the meantime -- it sure looks good for racing later this weekend.
