Early drag and lakes racer, manufacture of supercharges Gene Monneyham passed away on Tuesday of pneumonia.

We will really miss Gene. Great guy, businessman & racer. Always had a smile for you. I remember trips to his shop in Bellflower, across from the Tahitian Village.

Here's my favorite 6-71 which Gene built for us from an original, 1950's in-the-crate GMC core.

Believe it or not, 10% over. Gene set this one up "loose" for long-term reliability. He said to run it 10-12% and it should thunder. I, being the *expert*, decided to spin it 1:1 (improper pulley selection). After a couple of weak passes, I rounded up the proper pulleys for 10 over and guess what? She hauled ass!
