NASCAR isn't racing. NASCAR hasn't had a genuine race since Donohue drove the AMC Matador. Today, IMO, NASCAR is all about cult of personality and mega dollar sponsors. The cars are clones, the organizers are clowns, and the drivers - wetnursing, whiny little primadonnas who are beneath consideration for a spot on the Jerry Springer Show. NASCAR is a show - no different than a blockbuster movie - and a freak show at that.
Didn't used to be that way, but like Hunter S. Thompson once wrote -
"When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro."
Kent said it best - "a bag of skittles circling a toilet bowl."
For all of the obstacles that the organizers who sanction Land Speed RACING have thrown up to us, NONE have been designed to slow us up.
