I sure hope that information is old and not current.
I went to the Wendover / Air Force Auxillary Field weather information (
http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/Saltlake/mtr/KENV.html ) and according to that site wendover revcived "no" precipitation today and they have readings for about every 15 minutes. Now I know Wendover and the salt don't always get the same moisture, but I would think for that much on the salt there had to be some in Wendover.
We are suppose to get some scattered thunderstorms tonight in SE Utah (400 miles from the salt), but the weather map didn't show much in the way of clouds up there today and said it was clear. It looks good and clear to the west for awhile.
Also the SCTA-BNI site (
http://www.scta-bni.org/ ) had this post:
This the "OFFICIAL" report on salt conditions as of 4:50 pm Thurs. Aug. 5th, 04.Roy Creel, BNI chairman, was on the salt when he called this afternoon(Thurs. the 5th) and he summed up salt conditions in 3 words
"DRY", "HARD", "SMOOTH"
This will be posted on the SCTA/BNI web site as will any future updates. Please check the web for any and all "Official" changes. Lets go racing
