Just for the sake of discussion - about lodging for SW this coming August - the SCTA/BNI folks and I are hot and heavy in the "discovery" process for the porta-potties.  Among other things under consideration is increasing the number of units stationed at the Bend in the Road.  Last year we had four, if memory serves correctly -- and this year, taking into consideration how many people stayed at TBITR, we're planning on 6 or even eight, with more than just one on the north and west side of the bend.

Go in peace, my brothers (if you'll pardon the expression).

Interesting SSS.  I didn't realise we were discussing those kind of "rooms".  Have you started taking bookings for SpeedWeek yet?

My wife called the Nugget and they told her they can't take reservations for Speed Week until March 1st.
Montego Bay, Peppermill and Rainbow said they will start taking reservations the end of January which is coming up.
Call the Knights Inn directly for reservations.  They aren't doing them on line.

The wind direction has a profound effect on the daily room prices.

Just read the Red Garter was purchased last year by the owners of the Nugget. I suppose that means they will price us out as well.

Linda tried the Rainbow today [ tried to sneak in early] and they said they didn't even have the rates yet,
but thought they would have had them by now. We'll see if the story is the same tomorrow.
Nuggett was March, same deal on rates.

The Red Garter told us they were going to doze it down back in 2008.
