I may be reading it wrong but the # everyone wants is 409+ mph...but none of the classes seem to fit the Teague entry from 1991. Could be wrong on this one.....

I am assuming they all want the single reciprocating engine wheel driven record.

PS: The check is always in the mail....................JD

Teague was a single monster CI and blown....

Nearburg and Nish want the Summers 409 record because it is naturally aspirated. Summers ran four engines, Nish and Nearburg want to do it with a single engine.....

Poteet just wants FAST, and doesn't seem to care who holds the record or what CI they are....

I'll try again with those sheets from Dave Petrali.  These show the old records and classes.

I know they're not the best images -- gotta shoot 'em with the camera and try to have 'em good enough so you can read.  Dave says he can get me a .bmp file of them -- but for now, squint and you can make it out.

Also -- Amir Rosenbaum/Kenny Hoover have just towed out of the pits and towards the far end.  Here's what the car looks like (in case you don't remember):

Other stuff:  Nish has replaced the coil in the car.  They haven't started the motor yet -- anytime.

Speed Demon is towing to the far end, just like Speed by Spectre.  Spectre has first dibs on running.  Winds are under 5 mph all up and down the course -- about five tailwind here in the pits (where it's too late for the wind to help the car).

I hear they've got it exiting the car -- on the on-car video.  I don't think it hurt bodywork -- came out through the exhaust pipe.

Spectre is going to run soon.  It'll be a test run to see about rolling into the pit and doing a practice of the turnaround.  Poteet will try a real record qualifier immediately after the Spectre car is in the pit.

It's a few minute before 4 -- the first run should start in a little while. . .maybe fifteen minutes.  At least that's what they're telling us.

The Spectre is on the ground and Amir is getting dressed and ready to enter the car.

The Nish car is running in the pit -- good sounds!

John - The Spectre car was Roy Fjastad's 777 liner origionally, It was sold to Plastic Express and then to Amir - Amir's gang did a lot of very good updating on the origional piece.  With the finished body work and added length, its a rocket - Pat Kinne
