Jamie is about to start his return run.  Bike is moving out.

Through the four mile.  Entry speed is 192.9    kilo speed   194  mile   195.9   exit  202.48

Spectre -- Amir is in the car and waiting for his crew to get to the pits.  He'll run from the far end to the pits for a potential quick turnaround.

Car is running - ready to make an attempt.

Will get photos in a while -- Spectre is closing the canopy and ready to move.

Car is moving.  On the push truck -- now off the push.

At the one mile, still bouncing a bit.  Through the one and he's coming strong by the two.

In high gear and through the three, by the four, into the mile.  Entry speed  384  kilo  390.4  mile 390.3   exit  396.2mph

Approaching the pits, slowing well.  In the pit -- missed our truck by at least four or five feet.  I nearly Subarued -- knew he'd be close - but not THAT close.  Wait -- I'll get the photo here in a minute.

Here's the chute line.

Amir reports he got a mile marker and cone about the one and a half mile.  Just straighten it is the plan -- Nish is ready to run.  I'll go get a shot of the "ding" in the nose of the car.

Nish is running on the course right now.

Through the one, through the two mile.  By the four, still under power.

Entry speed, 399 entry  mile 404  through the four on the way back, chute deployed.

Cheering in the Nish pits -- best ever speed!  Terry says they're going to tune it up and go run it.

And then here are some of Amir's Spectre car, including an inside and outside shot of the dinged nose cone.  George, Kenny Hoover, and Amir - sharing stories.

Finally, Dan Warner reports that the Spirit of Rett car's record has been certified.  Congratulations to the entire team.

Amir and team right at 400 mph also... When have you ever been at a meet when there has been almost 4 cars over 400 mph. This is history on the salt in the making.

Last time was Nolan White, Al Teague and Don Vesco in 2001.... (wait I just can't remember if Teague went over 400 at that meet.)

Amit told me that he was a bit light-footed leaving on that run - afraid of the bumps, so he didn't get on it 'til about the 3/8.  Next time he'll punch it right off the truck.  Four hundred isn't far away.  They're pounding out the dented front cone right now.

But Dad, you said I could have the car for the afternoon and didn't tell me I couldn't go over 400, did you?
