How many El Mirage Runs per day?
« on: December 03, 2005, 06:49:49 PM »
I was only able to go up to my "B" license at this last Speedweek and am thinking of going to El Mirage in May. At Bonneville I only was able to get in 2-3 runs per day, and that is with no breaks - just going from a run to the end of the line.

So since the event is only 2 days long, I am not sure if it is worth the time and expense to go there. Two days driving (Seattle) 2 days there, 2 days back. Six days just to get in a few runs.

So realistically how many runs have people here been able to make per day?

Thanks

It dpends on the condition of the course. There are usually around 100-115 entries. If the course holds up we try to run two rounds. If it doesn't it's a one run deal. The other thing is you earn your starting position by points so a new comer or rookie is well back in the line and really don't have a fresh surface to run on. It makes it tough when you live so far away. Tom Bryant comes down from Redding Calif. but it's a full day of travel even for him.I hope this helps answer your quetion.

That Rob guy has come down from canada to race his ZX6 Kawi a few times. There is usually a lot of entries in May. I wouldnt plan on more than 2. They will run on one course on Sat and move it 2 run on another course on Sun. 1 pass per day hopefully we'll get 2 on Sat and 2 on Sun.
