yet another rookie question
« on: July 30, 2010, 04:07:47 PM »
Going to run the H/GALT class this year. first timers runner but have been to speedweek a few times years ago. my question is this: Do I run my own gas that I bring or do we have to purchase fuel at the track. I dont care either way I just need to plan for it. (Simple straightforward answers everyone :-D)

Use the race gas from ERC, that way if you qualify you have the right fuel in the car

if you run in the gas class you are required to buy your gas at the track ---there are many grades of gas to choose from------------willie buchta

Unless your not running for a record then you can use whatever you want.

i would still recommend that you buy event gas---when you get close to the record you will have to anyway-- and you never know you might run faster than you think--   willie buchta

Willie makes a good point. Plus being a rookie, you can get familiar with the tank sealing procedure ( more of the Bonneville experience).

If I was running in a gas class I would test and tune with the required gas. Using VP or something else moves you away from the answer.

I always get the ERC gas that I will be running at Bonneville. The shipping is costs more than the gas. But my tune is always spot on. Works for me. :-D
