Just a comment from a Wisconsin guy that was run over by June 2009's heat.......
One of the best parts of road racing in the heat is the 'warm up' lap right after you toss half a bottle of cold water down the back of your leathers. That first lap around nicely freeze dries the water and you can grid in relative comfort.
Obviously there is no warm up lap in LSR....that refreshing blast of cold water turns your leathers and helmet into a terrarium!
At Maxton, that ice cold water starts to warm up awefully quick and I swear it comes close to boil when you are waiting for the preceding vehicle to clear the track. Half way down the airstrip it is an even odd bet that your attachments are going to get poached!
