Good idea, Kent.  If you can -- will you bring a bucket of tar and a bag of feathers -- just in case?  And as for posters -- no, Charles, I hadn't thought of having them made.  Are you thinking of Salt Talks selling posters -- or just having some made and given out to the attendees?  I am careful with the amount of stuff we've got to sell because I don't want to turn the picnic into a full-fledged sales opportunity, especially since we already ask for money for the shirts and the new landracing.com coffee cups that we'll have this year -- and donations, and the 50/50 raffle.

Speaking of landracing.com things to sell at Salt Talks -- as fund raisers for the website -- take a look at these coffee mugs.  You've maybe seen the green ECTA mug before, as I posted a photo of it and its brethren a month or two ago.  But how about the black and the red with the website logo on 'em?  We intend to make a few dozen and have them with us at the pit and at Salt Talks.  They'll sell for $10 each, and will be available in red, black, BLUE*, and green.

*  I didn't have a blue one handy to include in the photo.

Then there's the logo on a cup -- that is, we can do your team logo - or most anything else you want on the cup.  We need $25 for getting the artwork into the computer (i.e. "set-up fee"), and then will make cups for you in your chosen design.  They'll be $10 each plus a few bucks for shipping.

Name tags/badges is the subject.  So far we've got about 30 of them ordered/completed.  We need to order more of the material (White, engraves red) if we get orders for more than another 10 or so.  Therefore -- if you're thinking about getting one of the $5 tags made, engraved with your name and vehicle number and team name -- or whatever you want in the three lines that'll easily fit -- let us know pronto.

Yes, at least 30 folks will be identified at Salt Talks this year.  I don't remember if it was Glen or me that came up with the idea, but in case it wasn't me -- thank you very much for the idea.  Order them by email or a PM or a letter, and payment must be in advance -- using Paypal is easiest, but check or money order or cash in a sealed unmarked envelope (well, I guess it oughta have an address and return address. . .) will suffice, too.  So far the biggest order is from Hayaboosta - who ordered about a dozen of them this past weekend.  Go ahead, see if you can beat him at the large-quantity contest.

So, are your pasties real pasties or are they fake pasties with carrots in them?

Jon, I suggested the badges to you. Anyway racers and crews it would be great to have the 1st. addition badges on the salt. Each year I announce the runs and read the information off the computers but in many cases we don't get a chance to meet with a lot of you. Salt talks is a great event Sunday night and a good place to put a face with the name. You only have a few more days to order them before speed week.

Grumm,

If you can get to SLC, I'll see to it that you have a ride to salt...can't do anything about accomodations, but I can get you from the airport to the salt!!

Ah, Walt -- you picky guy, you.  I think all pasties should have a bit of fine-grated carrot in them.  And these DO have the important vegetable ingredient -- cubed rutabaga!

I'll post the pasty pasty photo later on today, okay?  Get ready for it!

It's the pasties that are tasty, round, and full-sized -- not the buggers.  You'll see. . .
