Elliott Estrine provided us with a great article about his last time with Don Vesco. Well written and very touching.

I saw something in the article that lit a lightbulb. In the speedweek program I seem to remember a picture from Louise Noeth about tire fragments embedded in the picture, but according to Elliott there was no tire chunking???????

hmmmmm.......

Anyways Elliott thank you for the memories of Don...

For those of us who knew Don and his background we are the lucky ones. Don was a master with what ever he touched. He was fearless and smart enough to make the right decisions during any run. He was a master builder and inovator working in his world in his back yard shop.
Elliott knew him well and took direction from him while building his own streamliner.

Don was always a pleasure to talk to and would talk as long as you wanted. Don knew his days were limited at the world finals that year but it did not stop him from this last trek to the salt. Don will always leave us with fond memories.
