Gary, I have both the 66 & 67 as well and mint condition. Sure was a lot easier back then.
Those '66 revised '67 books must have been made of good stuff. I still have mine. As I remember it was handed out at the '66 Speedweek. Next years rules at this years meet. That was a good thing.

Thanks for the photos and result sheets, Gary.

And thanks for the  SR class explanation, Stan.

One of the things I found interesting was an entry by Gene Winfield, The Strip Star.  The photo is from my own collection of photos I've ripped off wherever possible.  :)

I was just doing some research on Winfield and his fiberglass 50 Mercury bodies for another site I co-sysop:

I'm kinda shakin my head in awe that Winfield would have run one of his show cars on the salt...but as I understand it, he built show cars that ran pretty well, as opposed to Ed Roth (one of my lifetime heroes) who built more like a sculptor with aesthetics and "gee-whiz" value in mind rather than performance.  Yeah, I know he built some drivers, but many like Rotar and Mysterion were only meant for display.

Oh, how I wish I'd started making annual pilgrimages to the salt when I was in my 20s.  D*mn!
