Let me see if I got this straight..
Amos has run a 272 one way or a bit faster.. streamlined..
the Aussie ran 269 on a sit up Busa at Speedweek..partially streamlined?..or?
Is this correct so far?
If so it is amazing that they are so close in speed, or do I have it wrong?
First of all the "Aussie" is a Kiwi.
Richard ran 260 and change one way.
Amos and Andy did not run however Joe Amo did record a one way time of 272+ and took an oil bath on the return pass.
Both bikes run on the partially streamlined classes.
Joe has medium power and greater Aero, Richard makes big power (and much more torque) however has bad aero compared to Joe and his partially streamlined machine.
Two very different bikes and riders..
I am sure Joe will come on and tell everyone how much power, what CD, what measured wheel spin, whether or not he was using the traction control etc..
Joe, where are you at?
John
PS. Joe is resting his head in the clouds and wondering when he can make the next event to be able to string two more great passes together to up his stellar 251+ mph record at Bonneville! I believe there are only four records that are faster than Joe's 251 in the history of timed events on the salt. Two of the records have the exact same speeds and Joe's is done on a much smaller machine and the engine was much smaller as well.
Congrats to Joe and Judie Amo, I am sure she is proud of her racer man!
