Ryan...  several of us have been exactly where you are....   the one thing you need to really get your head around is that this whole gig is a process and the "effort" you put in ... is where the real fun is at... this is the one place that the Destination ... while interesting.. doesn't come close to having the value of the trip itself...

Thanks for sharing your story...

Great story Craig, I remember pushing that thing out of Randy's shop and into your trailer. I was wondering what you had been doing with it. Congrats on your success so far, I'm sure you will be setting records with it soon.

Ryan, thanks for sharing your story. I had been dreaming about Bonneville since the '60s. I finally found the time to go in 2007 and I'm hooked! It is good to finally realize a dream...isn't it

First run the plenum popped off the intake.
Easy fix. Set shocks to hard. Way loose.

Second run, these shocks gotta go.
But it is a record.

Took the shocks off my crew chief's Dyna back at the hotel.
Took off the front fender to run A/PBF.
Note to self; Never Again!!
Let's just say visability was compromised.
When the safest thing you can do is wipe your visor off ~100 MPH....

My crew fabbed up a scraper with a milk jug and some duct tape.
Tom approved it and I went for another try.
I had just shifted into 3rd when the rear head gasket blew.
No problem, I was ready for that. Wasn't ready to find metal bits
stuck to the head. Seems the turbo went south, too.

Finis.
