So -- the Bub #7 is done for this meet.  Dang -- that speed was sooooo close.  Chris is saying the course was fine -- he was at 90 - 95% going into the measured mile, and part way through pinned it -- traction wasn't the problem this time.  Stay tuned for next event, boys and girls.

John -- Chris didn't know he was on fire.  He said there wasn't any smoke in the cockpit, no indication that there was a fire, the bottles didn't deploy.  Sorta like George Poteet at the shootout last year.  YEEEE-HAH!

There should be a manual (cable) over-ride for the main chute that the controls shouldn't have anything to do with. Could it have been damaged as well? Glad he is alright, the fire was contained and a safe stop was made.

You know, I can hear your voice in every word you write, just like you're on the radio. Can't wait for those live broadcasts if they happen, but these archives are going to be hard to beat looking back in years to come.

It really sucks not being there. After being in the timing trailer for 25 years it's tuff to wait for the results on the web site. I gotta figure out a way to make all of the events in the future. Keep up the great work Jon.

No sign of the Assen crew in the pit area -- perhaps they've headed home.  Their pit was pretty big and easy to find -- but it ain't where it was.  Many teams have left already -- only 3 1/2 hours left in the event.  I'm looking for Leslie Porterfield right now.  Her pit is pretty empty -- but I'm trying to find her to see if her 232 this morning is the top sit-on speed of the meet.  We'll head to some of the pre-stage areas.

Todd, the number you're looking for is 459.  And Rick does have 5 gallon cans of gas in the trailer that'll be here at WoS.

Not to mention the posts are great for those that can't be there real time! The web cast would be great but being able to read when you can is also great! Can we have both???  

Great run Bub and excellent driving Chris! Sounds like he kept a level head!  
I'm also interested in the back-up cable question. Worked out fine this time it seems but you sure don't want to just "hope" that doesn't happen again!
