another MC suit question (armor)
« on: July 20, 2005, 02:36:33 PM »
Ok so I finally found a suit with just cloth behind the knees, and small perf areas on the underarms and the elbows. I'm having outside leather patches made for all of them.

 ... however,....

this suit has no armor pads, just double thick leather on knees, forearms, shoulders and hips.

What armor/padding do I need to be SCTA/BNI legal.

(My illegal "Teknic" suit has armor everywhere, I'll run that at the AMA/Bub meet)

 Thanks,
 Jim Snyder

I don't pretend to have the absolute answer, but. . .

I think that armor is not REQUIRED for SCTA/BNI m/c riders.  Armor IS required for bikes over 175 at ECTA.

My Z Leathers were built with hard armor built-in.  Nancy's don't have it -- but we've got armor for her to wear if she rides my bike at Maxton -- probably will wear it at the Salt, too.
