Looking at the part that goes into the head it appears that the O ring grove is made with a radius tool. True?

Rex, being a static and low pressure seal I don't see a problem as long as the squeeze is enough. I know it don't meet MIL specs or the groove design in the Parker o-ring book but I have done this in the past as well.

Desotoman and any others

The first hummer fledged at 7:10 Monday morning and the second one only 3 minutes later.

I saw one of them just a few minutes ago in the tree next to the new nest. Mom was feeding it.

I have two shots of the fledge of Jay and I will attach one of them.

The screen shot is a slow shutter speed but his head is detailed enough to recognize.

Since the Bonneville NW Reunion is Saturday and I am on the road Friday, Ray Therat was ready when I sent him

post 95. It relates to the plumbing of the water system. There are small details remaining in the oil and water systems

but it's coming together.

After the Bonneville NW Reunion, Ray Therat and I went to Jim Hume's shop to allow Ray to bond with the project.

He remained silent for a long time and then the questions started. Dave Jeffers did his best to inform him.

I'm curious to know why they chose to fab the water line fittings for the head the way that they did. To me it looks like they could have been made entirely from billet with interconnected drill bores and tapped to accept the fittings, making a more robust and vibration resistant part with less chance of failure. To my eye those fittings look to be a little on the weak side compared to the rest of the build.

Just re-read that and it sounds critical of me, rest assured I in no way believe myself to be qualified to critique anything on this build. I'm just trying to understand the decision behind it to better inform me for my own education. I stand in total awe of everything that I see every time I check in on this, which is every time you post an update. Just looking at this forces me to try to better my own fab skills, and disappoints me with what I turn out at the same time.

I'll answer you this weekend. Rite now I'm packing for a trip to cold country. When we get there I'll give u the specs of

those fittings.  Believe me......they are quite adequate.

I know the hoses were used to allow flexibility, not rigidity.
